C4 Added to ntl Telewest On Demand Platform

LONDON, October 20: Subscribers of the British cable
platform ntl Telewest now have access to a slate of programming from Channel 4
on an on-demand basis, the two companies announced today.

The platform’s 2.8 million digital cable subscribers will
have on-demand access to current shows as well as library titles like Shameless, Queer As Folk, Drop The Dead Donkey
and Jamie's School Dinners. The
three-year deal covers hundreds of hours of content, with the offering to be
refreshed on a regular basis. There is also a seven-day free catch-up service
for the majority of Channel 4's prime-time TV schedule, including popular shows
such as Hollyoaks, Family
Brat Camp
, Goldplated and Deal or No Deal.

Rod Henwood, Channel 4’s new business director, noted,
"Channel 4 is the most innovative and distinctive brand in U.K.
television—and we want to extend this reputation by taking a pioneering
role in VOD. This agreement with ntl Telewest underlines our ambitions. It is a
major step towards making Channel 4 content available on demand across multiple
platforms and lays the foundation for the launch of our bespoke on demand
service later this year."
