BVITV Signs German IPTV Deal

MUNICH, August 10: Lost
and Desperate Housewives will soon be available for online VOD broadcast in
Germany, up to a week before their free-TV airings, on ProSiebenSat.1 Media’s
broadband platform maxdome.

The deal between Buena
Vista International Television (BVITV) and ProSiebenSat.1’s digital TV division
SevenSenses is the first ever first-run network series subscription VOD
agreement concluded in Germany by a studio. It is also Disney’s first SVOD
agreement in Europe for a network series, and the first time that Disney has
previewed a show on VOD in Europe prior to its free-TV broadcast.

Effective September 1,
when both series launch their second seasons on ProSieben, individual episodes from seasons one and two of the
Touchstone Television-produced series will be offered on demand for a one-off
payment and will be viewable for a 24-hour period. The series will also be available
via subscription VOD, with customers buying a Season Pass or signing up for the
‘maxdome Serie’ offering that allows users to subscribe for access to a
selection of ProSiebenSat.1's series.
Season Pass subscribers will have access to their shows up to seven days
before their free TV broadcast. Through the ‘maxdome Serie’ section, series
will be available starting from 24 hours after their free TV broadcast.
