Brits Top International Emmys

NEW YORK, November 25:
British shows dominated the International Emmys, picking up wins in seven out
of the ten categories, including a sweep on the performance side, while
Argentina and Jordan both scored first-time wins.

Argentina won for Television Por La Identidad in the TV
Movie/Mini-Series category, and Jordan took home the statuette for its
telenovela Al-Igtiyah (The Invasion) in
the category's inaugural year. The Netherlands won in the Non-Scripted
Entertainment category for The Big Donor

David Suchet was
recognized for his performance as Robert Maxwell in the biography series Maxwell, while Lucy Cohu landed the win
for her performance as Liz in the drama series Forgiven.

British programs also won
in the categories of Arts Programming (Strictly
Bolshoi
),
Children & Young People (Shaun the
Sheep
), Comedy (The I.T. Crowd),
Documentary (The Beckoning Silence)
and Drama (Life on Mars).
