With the completion of Breakthrough Entertainment’s management buyout, Peter Williamson, executive producer and co-founder, is stepping down.

Michael McGuigan, CFO, and Nat Abraham, president of distribution, will be taking control of Breakthrough Entertainment effective immediately. Williamson will continue to oversee the development of Coppermine, a movie currently in co-development with Buffalo Gal Pictures.

Williamson commented: “Leaving Breakthrough is bittersweet. I’m proud of all that we have achieved over the better part of four decades and am confident that Michael and Nat will lead Breakthrough into a bright future.”

Abraham and McGuigan said: “Peter has always been a consummate professional in the television and film industry and he will surely be missed at Breakthrough. However, we are excited about continuing the legacy that Peter has helped build and moving the company forward as a leading producer and distributor of premium content.”
