Bravo Renews NYC Housewives

NEW YORK: Bravo is currently casting for the third season of The Real Housewives of New York City, set to premiere in 2010.

The cable network says that production will begin this fall. Casting is currently under way for "additional housewives," and it is not clear which members of the first two seasons will return for the third outing. Reports indicate that some previous cast members are holding out for more lucrative contracts.

The second season of The Real Housewives of New York City scored a season average of 1.95 million total viewers, while the finale and reunion special posted more than 2 million viewers. The series, produced by Shed Media U.S., is part of Bravo’s popular Real Housewives franchise, which also includes the original Orange County version, Atlanta, New Jersey and the upcoming Washington, D.C.
