ATLANTA: Bounce TV, the first over-the-air broadcast television network targeted to African American audiences, is to debut Monday, September 26 at noon.

Bounce TV will air movies, live sporting events, documentaries, inspirational faith-based programs, original programming and more. It was co-founded by Martin Luther King III and Ambassador Andrew Young, among others, who serve on the Board of Directors.

The digital terrestrial network is designed for carriage on the signals of local stations and will be available 24-hours a day, seven days a week, in Houston, Cleveland, Akron, Charlotte, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Hartford, New Haven, Norfolk, Dayton, West Palm Beach, Birmingham, Memphis, Louisville and Richmond, among other markets.

"September 26 will be an important milestone as we launch the first-ever independently owned and operated broadcast television network featuring African Americans," King said.

"Our network will deliver free programming for our vastly under-served community and be accessible free, to all homes,” Young commented. “We look forward to Bounce TV entertaining African American viewers, and frankly all Americans, for many years to come.”
