Boomerang UK to Air Mr. Bean

LONDON: Turner Broadcasting has picked up the exclusive U.K. rights to air all 26 half-hour episodes of the animated series Mr. Bean on its Boomerang Channel.

The three-year deal will see Mr. Bean join the lineup of animated characters on Boomerang that already includes Scooby-Doo, Tom and Jerry and Pink Panther and Pals. Mr. Bean is produced by Tiger Aspect Productions in association with Richard Purdum Productions and Varga Holdings.

Cecilia Persson, the VP of acquisitions for EMEA at Turner Broadcasting, said: “Mr. Bean is the epitome of good fun family viewing and has a great gender balance appeal, which works perfectly for a channel like Boomerang which is watched equally by boys and girls. We’re delighted to welcome the show to Boomerang’s roster of animation greats.”

Katherine Senior, the executive producer for Mr. Bean at Tiger Aspect Productions, added: “It is gratifying and exciting that after 20 years Mr. Bean continues to entertain and delight audiences all over the world. We are all happy that he has found a new home on Boomerang.”
