BKN to Launch New Digital HD Animation Studio

LONDON, July 25: BKN is creating a new studio facility dedicated to producing
high-quality animation in digital high definition, with the comedy Stone Age
the first project
to roll out in late 2008.

There will
be a fixed capital investment in high-quality hardware and software that is
expected to produce two 26-part series annually. The creative and production
staff will undertake extensive training in the adaptation of technology,
compared to the traditional style of hand-drawn animation. With the new studio,
BKN intends to provide terrestrial, cable, broadband and satellite broadcasters
and DVD distributors with high-definition series or films beginning in late
2008. BKN also hopes that high-definition product will also allow the company
to expand more rapidly on the Internet via digital downloads.

Stone Age, a new
comedy consisting of 26 half-hour episodes plus an 80-minute film, will be the
first project delivered in digital high definition from the studio. The
project, created by Rick Ungar for BKN, is due for delivery in late 2008.

“The market
is moving quickly and several of our competitors have either chosen not to
invest in this state of the art technology or are financially not able to,”
stated Allen Bohbot, the CEO of BKN. “BKN is willing and able and will take an
aggressive role in this area.”
