BKN Closes British, German Deals on Dork Hunters

LONDON, February 13: BKN New Media has licensed its animated
comedy Dork Hunters From Outer Space to
GMTV in the U.K. and RTL II in Germany, and has sealed a pan-European master
toy deal on the property with the Character Group.

GMTV has acquired two seasons of the series, totaling 36
episodes, for premiere on GMTV1 in 2008. The series is scheduled to launch on
RTL II later this year.

The toy rollout with Character Group will launch in the late
summer of 2008 with basic plush, feature plush, action figures, toy vehicles,
accessories, play sets, arts and crafts, interactive toys, board games, toy
writing and school instruments, and toy accessories including lipstick and
make-up.

Nicola
Andrews, the sales director at BKN New Media, commented, “The broadcast
of Dork Hunters From Outer Space in the
U.K. and Germany reflect a key component of our European marketing
strategy. GMTV and RTL II provide
exceptional broadcast platforms for the series while Character Group is the obvious choice as our
licensing partner in Europe. These strong commitments from major European
companies are the major reason why we expanded the Dork Hunters From Outer
Space
brand by 38 percent to 36 episodes from the previously announced 26
episodes at MIPCOM. We look forward to forging relationships with new
licensees throughout the international arena.”
