Betsy’s Kindergarten Adventures on PBS Kids in 2007

SHERMAN OAKS, September
18: PBS Kids will add the Corner Stone Animation series Betsy’s Kindergarten
Adventures
to its schedule
starting in the fall of 2007.

Betsy’s Kindergarten
Adventures
is an animated
educational preschool series whose aim it is to help ease the transition from
home to school. Voice-over talent includes Daveigh Chase (Lilo & Stitch), Nancy Cartwright (The Simpsons), Fred Willard (Chicken Little), Vicki Lewis (Finding Nemo), Bess Armstrong (My So-Called Life), Sally Struthers (All in the Family), Cree Summer (X-Men Legends), Richard Horvitz (Power Rangers) and Tom Bosley (Happy Days).

Betsy’s Kindergarten
Adventures
presents valuable
lessons to help children prepare for success in school and in life,” said Linda
Simensky, the senior director of children’s programming at PBS. “Like all of
PBS’ children’s series, Betsy’s Kindergarten Adventures will offer comprehensive parent, teacher and child
outreach programs to extend these lessons when the TV is turned off.”

Producer and co-creator
Michael Pietrzak added, “Betsy’s Kindergarten Adventures brings a positive, light-hearted account of the
baffling unfamiliarity, the unanticipated pleasures, and the social and
developmental issues navigated by school children during the first days, weeks
and years of formal education.”

Betsy’s Kindergarten
Adventures
focuses on that time in
a child’s life when kindness and curiosity are most suited to cultivation,”
says Dale Scales, the president of Corner Stone Animation. “This series affords
us an excellent opportunity to bring lessons that will serve as a valuable tool
for use in both home and at school for children across the country via the
leader in children’s educational television, PBS Kids.”
