Berlusconi Hospitalized After Passing Out at Rally

MILAN, November
27: Former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi fainted while giving a
speech on Sunday. He was then taken to the hospital and diagnosed with a minor
heart problem.

Italy’s richest
man and owner the broadcast group Mediaset, Berlusconi was addressing a group
of young people at a gathering in Tuscany when he fainted. He was aided by his
personal physician and then checked in to a hospital in Milan, where he spent
the night. Doctor’s reportedly found an irregularity in Berlusconi’s
electrocardiogram.

Berlusconi
later told reporters that his collapse had been due to fatigue, antibiotics
taken after knee surgery and heat at the gathering.
