BBC Worldwide Scores China Deals

BEIJING, August 29: Following a successful stint at the
Beijing TV Festival last week, BBC Worldwide has secured two deals on its raft
of factual titles with Chinese broadcasters.

The docudramas Krakatoa—The Last Days,
Hannibal—Rome’s Worst Nightmare
and
The Lost World
will be syndicated to over
300 regional and local television channels across China over the coming three
years. In addition, the latest David Attenborough natural history series,
Life In The Undergrowth
, has been licensed
to state broadcaster CCTV.

These agreements follow the licensing of 135 hours of
history and factual programming to Chinese satellite channel Sun TV. Plus, ten
TV movies and mini-series have been sold in China by BBC Worldwide in recent
months, including Girl in the Café, Under the Greenwood Tree, Frances
Tuesday, North and South, Pride
and
The Lost Prince.
