BBC Worldwide Launches New Channels in South Korea

SINGAPORE: BBC Worldwide Channels Asia is bringing BBC Lifestyle to the South Korean market for the first time with carriage on SK Broadband, which is also adding BBC Entertainment to its lineup.

BBC Entertainment and BBC Lifestyle will be available on SK Broadband’s IPTV offering beginning July 1. Commenting on the deal, Mark Whitehead, the general manager and senior VP of BBC Worldwide Channels in Asia, said: “The launch of BBC Entertainment and BBC Lifestyle on SK Broadband is an important development for us; as BBC Lifestyle makes its broadcast debut in South Korea, we are also introducing BBC Entertainment to a wider audience. Korea is an important market in our growth strategy in Asia, and our partnership with SK Broadband builds on our commitment to bring great quality programming to more viewers in the region.”
