BBC Worldwide Hires New Digital Exec

LONDON: Robert Nashak is joining BBC Worldwide as executive VP of digital entertainment, to oversee the company’s gaming strategy and find new opportunities across a range of gaming platforms.

Nashak will be based in Los Angeles and will report to John Smith, the chief executive of BBC Worldwide. He joins the company from Electronic Arts, where he was VP with responsibility for the social gaming group. At BBC Worldwide, Nashak will be charged with leading the company in broadening the digital entertainment business and gaming initiatives.

Nashak said of his new role: “As a long-term admirer of BBC Worldwide, I know it has great potential in digital entertainment simply by the quality and variety of content it has to offer. I am extremely excited to be playing a leading role in realizing this potential and growing its audience base, through other platforms, around the world.”

Smith added, “Gaming has always been an area of particular interest to BBC Worldwide, especially in recent months with the digital entertainment industry developing at such rapid speed. Robert brings highly relevant knowledge and experience to help us expand our consumer demand led offering. We welcome him on board.”
