BBC Three Commissions Multiplatform Comedic Drama

LONDON, August 1: A new
comedy-drama tentatively titled Mouth to Mouth has been commissioned from Avalon Television for
BBC Three to launch later this year, with rollout on the web and mobile phones
prior to its linear broadcast.

The series will be a
cautionary tale, following the highs and lows of three members of girl group
Cat’s Eyes through individual monologues. Starring Ayesha Antoine, Pippa Duffy
and Anna Nighingale, the multiplatform production is written by Karl Minns, who
will also write all supplementary online content, which will expand the
narrative beyond the TV show.

BBC Three’s controller,
Danny Cohen, commented: "BBC Three is committed to producing a steady
stream of innovative and creative multiplatform projects. The latest of these, Mouth
to Mouth
, is all about powerful
writing and great acting talent. The essentials of quality content are not
going to change, whatever the platform."
