Banijay Productions Germany Begins Work on Micro-Drama Formats

Banijay Productions Germany is expanding its work in the development of micro-drama formats, with its first project already produced.

The as-yet-untitled project includes 28 episodes and features a cast of eight German creators who have a combined reach of more than 33 million followers. It is led by executive producer Imke Runde (Verklag mich doch!, Richterin Barbara Salesch, Staatsanwalt Posch ermittelt).

“Through platforms and mobile usage, narrative forms and viewing habits are shifting rapidly,” said Katrin Stefanović, managing director of Banijay Productions Germany. “Micro-dramas offer an exciting space to experiment with new formats and distribution models. As a forward-facing company, we feel it’s important to shape trends, and by combining our expertise with Imke’s, we have created a debut to demonstrate how impactful creator-led, mobile-first storytelling can be.”
