Azteca América Expands Relationship with FIA

LOS ANGELES, May 28: Azteca América has entered into an alliance with Fuerza Informativa Azteca (FIA) to boost its news output, including the creation of a state-of-the-art HD studio at its parent headquarters in Mexico City.

The alliance creates a network of 32 news bureaus and 108 reporters across Latin America and the world. The current news team will remain the same, and will include political commentary and special health and women’s issues segments . Local news in Chicago, Washington D.C., Dallas, Houston and Las Vegas will be anchored by Mexican broadcast veterans Christian Lara  and Roberto Ru. Azteca América will continue to have news crews and reporters in those cities as well.

“Azteca América’s news broadcasts will continue at 5:30 p.m. and 11 p.m., as will the local news broadcasts in Los Angeles, Dallas, Houston and Las Vegas at their regularly scheduled times,” said Azteca Am鲩ca’s president, Adrian Steckel.

“Azteca América is committed to bringing to our viewers the fastest-breaking news in Mexico and around the world,” continued Steckel. “With the enhanced resources of FIA, we are excited to be able to deliver an outstanding news product to our U.S. viewers.”
