NEW YORK, March 27: ¡Sorpresa!, Juniper Content Corporation’s Hispanic children’s network, has acquired seven new programs for its second-quarter lineup, including Lola and Virginia, targeted at 6- to 11-year-olds, and the teen-skewing Erky Perky.

Sorpresa!’s new lineup features animated series like Boom & Reds, Zumbers and Tweenies for its preschool audience; Lola and Virginia and Telmo and Tula: Little Cooks and Arts & Crafts for kids 6 to 11; and Girl Stuff, Boy Stuff and Erky Perky for teen and tween viewers.

In addition to the new series, Sorpresa! has launched Cine Sorpresa!, featuring family-targeted animated classics in Spanish. Three new specials will make their debut during the second quarter: April Fool’s Day with Lola & Virginia, Cine Sorpresa!’s Jungle Book and Earth Day with Arcandina.

"These new programs celebrate the child within through laughter, learning and daily life interactions that support and encourage a positive self image through an appreciation of others," stated Maria Badillo, Sorpresa!’s VP of programming. "We have created a multiplatform world for our viewers that celebrates and reflects their own space while achieving the balance between fun and edutainment."
