TEL AVIV: The Hungarian production of Armoza Formats’ Shall We Kiss is the first of several local versions of the scripted Israeli format that HBO Central Europe will develop and produce.

Titled Társas | Játék, the Hungarian version will launch this weekend, on October 23. A deal between Armoza Formats and HBO Central Europe will see several additional territories in Central and Eastern Europe airing local productions.

The drama originally aired on Channel 10. It was created and written by Dalit Kahan. In Hungary, more than half of the 12 episodes are directed by Gabor Herendi, the renowned Hungarian film director (Valaki Amerika, Magyar Vandor).

Katalin Schulteisz, the series’ production executive at HBO-CE, said, "We found very good talent to play these roles. The central characters are very human and vulnerable, and the story unfolds in contemporary Budapest."

Avi Armoza, the CEO of Armoza Formats, added, "HBO Central Europe is the perfect broadcaster to bring this dark, vivid drama to a European audience. Their extraordinary productions and dedication to producing daring TV programming has allowed them to produce a close adaptation of the Israeli series that will touch audiences across the CEE region. We and Dalit Kahan [the format creator] could not be more pleased with the Társas | Játék interpretation, and look forward to sharing these beautiful and haunting stories with the Hungarian audience."
