Apparel Deal for Rainbow’s PopPixie

LORETO: Rainbow S.p.A. has secured further deals for its property PopPixie, with Italian children’s clothing company Mirtillo and back-to-school outfit Paxos.

The apparel deal with Mirtillo is for outerwear in Italy. Paxos will be rolling out product in Greece, Cyprus and the Middle East. Both deals come on the heels of a European master toy license and a toy vending-machine deal with Bandai. The Pixie characters first appeared in Winx Club season two in 2006. The PopPixie series is to launch at Brand Licensing Europe and MIPCOM, available for TV in 2010.

“As soon as the Pixies appeared on screen they instantly became popular with children, achieving excellent results both in terms of viewer numbers and product sales," said Iginio Straffi, the founder of Rainbow S.p.A. "For this reason I decided to bring these cute mini fairies to life and give them their own show and a licensing program tailor-made around the brand.”
