Annie Award Nominations Announced

PARIS: The nominees for the 38th annual Annie Awards include GIMC’s Cloud Bread up for best animated TV production for children, along with Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants and Fanboy & Chum Chum and Cartoon Network Studios’ Adventure Time and Frederator, Regular Show.

Best animated TV production, for any age group, features as contenders Futurama (The Curiosity Company in association with 20th Century Fox Television), Kung Fu Panda Holiday (DreamWorks Animation), Scared Shrekless (DreamWorks Animation), Star Wars: The Clone Wars “Arc Troopers” (Lucasfilm Animation) and The Simpsons “The Squirt and the Whale” (Gracie Films).

Up for best animated feature are Despicable Me (Illumination Entertainment and Universal Pictures), How to Train Your Dragon (DreamWorks Animation), Tangled (Disney), The Illusionist (Django Films) and Toy Story 3 (Disney/Pixas). The nominees for best animated short subject are Coyote Falls (Warner Bros. Animation), Day & Night (Pixar), Enrique Wrecks the World (House of Chai), The Cow Who Wanted to Be a Hamburger (Plymptoons Studio) and The Renter (Jason Carpenter).

The winners will be named at the 38th annual Annie Awards on February 5, 2011, in Los Angeles. The event is organized by the International Animated Film Society, ASIFA-Hollywood.
