Anne Sweeney Headlines Day One of MIPCOM Conference Schedule

PARIS/CANNES, October 2: Anne Sweeney, the co-chair of
Disney Media Networks and president of the Disney-ABC Television Group, will
deliver a keynote entitled “The Today and Tomorrow of TV and The New
Entertainment Consumer” on the first day of MIPCOM in a session that will be
moderated by Anna Carugati, the group editorial director of World Screen.

The event will take place on Monday, October 9 at 5:15 p.m.
in the Auditorium Esterel on Level 5 of the Palais, capping off Monday’s
conference schedule. Other highlights of the day include a breakfast with Keith
Chapman, the creator of Bob Builder, who
will be interviewed by Sarah Baynes, the MD and executive producer of The
Creative Garden in the U.K.

Later that morning, at 11:45 a.m. in Auditorium A on Level
3, a panel will explore the commissioning process for digital platforms. Among
those slated to participate are Daniel Fill, the head of development at ABC in
Australia; Morgan Holt, the director of media innovation at Hutchison 3G UK;
and Gregory Nelson, the GM of MSN in the U.K. At the same time in Auditorium I
on Level 4, Noel Hedges, the head of drama at Granada International; Michael
Rosenfeld, the president of National Geographic Television & Film; and
Murata Shinichi, executive producer of natural history programs at NHK, will
discuss HD production.

The afternoon schedule includes a panel discussion on
branded content at 2:30 p.m., moderated by Mitch Kanner, the CEO of 2 Degrees
Ventures; and featuring Barry Soloff, the manager of global advertising and
marketing communication at the Duracell Division of Procter & Gamble; Peter
Telford, the director of Broadcast Marketing in the U.K. and Peter Tortorici,
the president of GroupM Entertainment.

At 3:30 p.m. in Auditorium Esterel will be the Superpanel
entitled “Do You Know Who Your Audience Is? Who is Writing the New Rules of
Engagement for Entertainment and Distribution?” It will feature John Hegarty,
the chairman and worldwide creative director at BBH, UK; Lewis Henderson, the
SVP and head of digital media at William Morris Agency; Ben Silverman, the CEO
of Reveille; Peter Tortorici, the president of GroupM Entertainment; and Gayle
Troberman, the GM for worldwide branded entertainment at Microsoft Corporation.
