AMC/Sundance Channel Global Acquires Season Two of Rectify, Monty Python Special

NEW YORK: AMC/Sundance Channel Global has made a number of acquisitions to support its linear and VOD services in Asia, EMEA and Latin America, including picking up season two of Rectify as well as the reunion special Monty Python Live (Mostly): One Down, Five to Go.

Rectify was acquired from ITV Studios Global Entertainment as a first window for all Sundance Global territories worldwide. This includes the Middle East and North Africa as well as Latin America, in addition to the previously announced distribution throughout Asia and Europe.

The reunion special Monty Python Live (Mostly): One Down, Five to Go was picked up from Eagle Rock Entertainment to premiere exclusively on Sundance Channel Global. Sundance Channel will debut the special live in Latin America, the Middle East and North Africa, and at a later date in other international territories.

AMC/Sundance Channel Global has also acquired a lineup of series to debut later this year and in 2015 in key local territories. Further seasons of Mr Selfridge have been acquired from ITV Studios Global Entertainment for Asia and Latin America. This includes season two premiering in 2014 and season three in 2015. The Australian spy thriller The Code has been acquired from DCD and will debut in Latin America later this year, along with the second season of Borgen from American Video Films.

Sundance Channel in Dutch Benelux territories will debut the British series Peaky Blinders from Endemol later this year, along with the Kudos drama Utopia from Shine International in 2015. For Sundance Channel in Iberia, the drama Perfidia has been acquired from Kevin Williams Associates to debut in 2015, along with the second season of Prófugos from HBO to premiere at a later date.
