Amazing Race, Survivor Renewed by CBS

LOS ANGELES: CBS is bringing back the reality franchises Survivor and The Amazing Race for the 2010-2011 season.

Survivor has been picked up for two more editions, for a 21st and 22nd season. Last fall, the franchise’s 19th edition, Survivor: Samoa, won its Thursday 8 p.m. time period in viewers, adults 18 to 49 and adults 25 to 54. The 20th installment of Survivor, Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains, will premiere with a special two-hour episode on February 11 at 8 p.m.

CBS has also ordered a 17th edition of The Amazing Race. The show recently wrapped up its 15th edition with year-to-year gains in viewers, adults 19 to 49 and adults 25 to 54. The 16th cycle debuts February 14.
