Airey Quits Iostar

LONDON, April 24: Dawn Airey has quit as the chief executive
of the new media group Iostar after just over a week on the job, citing a
“significant breach in her contract,” local press reports indicate.

According to the Guardian, Airey is said to have doubts about the company, whose board of
directors includes former UKTV chief Dick Emery and the actor Stephen Fry. "Just
two days after taking up her position, she found that the funding arrangements
were not what she was led to believe," a source close to Airey told the Guardian. "She takes the view that it's better to bring early
closure to this and to move on rather than to stick with something that's very
different from her expectations."

Airey left BSkyB for Iostar in March. The newly formed
company is positioning itself as a combined production, distribution, talent
representation and rights management outfit, specializing in TV movies, series,
factual fare and theatrical features. It was founded by former Hallmark
International executive Mark Grenside and Tim Carron Brown, the ex-chairman of
the dotcom venture Edfex.

It is not yet clear what Airey’s next move will be.
