AETN International, Korea Telecom in HD VOD Deal

CANNES, April 7: AETN International has reached an
agreement with Korea Telecom (KT) to launch a branded HD VOD service in Korea
this summer for History (formerly known as The History Channel).

The History HD VOD service will be part of Korea
Telecom’s newly launched IPTV service, Korea Telecom Mega TV, which provides a
variety of interactive and on-demand services to subscribers. Programming
available on the History HD VOD service will include Cities of the
Underworld
,
Lost Worlds
,
Engineering an Empire
and Dogfights.

In addition to its service for History on Korea
Telecom Mega TV, AETN has launched HD VOD services for History, BIO and A&E
around the world, including the U.S., the U.K., Germany and Spain. The History
Channel launched in Korea in March 2002 and is operated locally by JoongAng
Broadcasting Corp.

“Over the past year, AETN has moved aggressively to
expand its presence in Asia through the launch of our suite of channels,
digital services and program syndication,” said Fabienne Fourquet, the director
of international digital media for AETN International. “We are very pleased to
make our award-winning HD programs available to the Korean audience on demand.
KT is our first Asian HD VOD partnership and we expect to roll out additional
HD VOD services globally this year.”
