A&E Plans Doc on Man Behind The Cleaner

NEW YORK: The one-hour documentary special Extreme Interventionist: The Man Behind The Cleaner, premiering August 11 on A&E, will spotlight former addict Warren Boyd, whose personal journey inspired the cable network’s original drama The Cleaner.

The project looks at Boyd’s battle with addiction, his recovery and subsequent dedication as counselor and extreme interventionist. Narrated by Meredith Vieira, the special details how he manages a number of sober-living facilities, safe houses and a team of private investigators who act as counselors. Viewers will also see Boyd work as co-executive producer on The Cleaner, lending his experiences to bring credible, real-world grittiness and authenticity to the series.

Extreme Interventionist: The Man Behind The Cleaner is produced by Peacock Productions for A&E. Knute Walker and Elizabeth Fischer are executive producers for Peacock Productions. Executive producers for A&E are Robert Sharenow and Colleen Conway.
