NEW YORK: AOL has launched a late-night video block of programming that will feature content from The Adam Carolla Show, Kevin Pollak’s Chat Show and Kevin Smith’s SModcast Network.

AOL Late Night launched on January 24, with a lineup that includes weekly highlights from The Adam Carolla Show, clips from Kevin Pollack’s Chat Show; and segments from Kevin Smith’s podcasts, featuring Smith and Scott Mosier. The new service will also feature weekly best-ofs from Carcast with Adam Carolla, This Week with Larry Miller, Spider and the Henchman with John Salley and Kevin Hench, Daves of Thunder with Dave Dameshek and Dave Feeney, The Parent Experiment and The Film Vault.

“Phase one of our programming strategy is to build a block of content our audiences can expect day in and day out,” said Amber J. Lawson, the head of programming at AOL Media. “The powerhouse trio of Carolla, Pollak and Smith is a great way to establish our late night programming leveraging their rabid built-in audiences to give new and loyal viewers alike a more immersive experience while integrating our internal brands that you already know and love—PopEater, Moviefone, Engadget and Sessions.”

“Ever since I could spell, AOL has been on my radar,” joked Carolla. “It brings me great joy to finally partner up with them and make my childhood dreams come true. I look forward to our future together.”

"In 2011, I just hope Adam, Kevin and I can do for AOL what McMillan&Wife, McCloud and Columbo did for ABC’s Mystery Wheel in the 1970s,” said Pollak. “That is, change the way people feel about themselves, forever more.”

Smith added: "The first time I ever went online was via AOL. That means I’ve been a paying member for over 15 years—all without knowing I was investing in my own future. I look forward to many battles over what’s considered too risque for their family-oriented service.”
