ABC, Disney Channel Programming Headed to FLO TV

SAN DIEGO: FLO TV has inked an expanded agreement with The Walt Disney Company to add content from ABC and Disney Channel to its service, joining ESPN MobileTV, which is already available in the lineup.

FLO TV users will have access to a range of popular shows in prime time from ABC Mobile and a simulcast of the Disney Channel. The ABC Mobile channel features full-length episodes of hit series such as Grey’s Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, FlashForward, Ugly Betty and Lost when it returns in February 2010. There will also be select content from ABC Family and SOAPnet, and a variety of short-form content from ABC Entertainment and ABC News. The FLO TV service will further offer consumers access to full-length episodes of hit Disney Channel series Hannah Montana, Wizards of Waverly Place, The Suite Life on Deck and JONAS, as well as films from the Disney Channel Original Movie franchise. The service also includes content from the Playhouse Disney preschool block, including Handy Manny and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

Through an existing deal, the FLO TV service already offers ESPN MobileTV, which delivers 24/7 coverage of more than 800 live events, including college football, college basketball and major league baseball. Through this new agreement, live event coverage will expand further still, with previously unavailable ESPN games being added to the ABC Mobile channel.

"ABC Mobile and Disney Channel offer some of the most iconic and popular programming on television," said Jonathan Barzilay, the senior VP of programming and advertising for FLO TV. "FLO TV is thrilled to add ABC Mobile and the Disney Channel to the lineup of leading brands enjoyed by our subscribers."

"We are excited to expand our relationship with FLO TV and now offer a comprehensive array of world-class programming to their subscribers," added Matt Murphy, the senior VP of digital video distribution for Disney and ESPN Media Networks. "We are dedicated to connecting viewers to the content they want and brands they love on the platforms they choose and are pleased that in addition to having access to high-quality, popular sports programming from ESPN, users of the FLO TV service will now be able to see their favorite shows from ABC and Disney Channel."
