Nick Jr Lines Up Breakfast Block

LONDON: Wake Up World, a daily two-hour programming block aimed at 2- to 5-year-olds, launches on Nick Jr on October 5 at 7 a.m.

The two-hour slot is a mix of Nick Jr shows and five new interstitials. The interstitials, each running under two minutes in length, include Morning Mini Movers, an aerobic-dance class, and Yummy Yummy, a breakfast cook-along show. Wake Up World will be hosted by presenter Laura Hamilton, who will live in a blue house and will guide children through their morning routine. Also, for the first time, there will be a clock in the corner of the screen during programs, to help parents plan their morning routines around the shows. The block will run every weekday from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.

Peter Drake, the VP creative director for programming at Nick Jr, said: “Wake Up World is a structured and stimulating two-hour block which will entertain, educate and inspire. Preschoolers will not only love the shows, but also enjoy getting ready for the day ahead, making a busy time a bit easier and more enjoyable for all the family.”
