Scholastic Launches iPhone, iPod Touch Applications

NEW YORK: Six applications based on Scholastic Media properties are being launched for the iPhone and iPod touch, four of which are currently available on the App Store.

Applications will feature a mix of games, puzzles and entertainment based on the hit properties Clifford the Big Red Dog, I SPY, Goosebumps, The 39 Clues and WordGirl. Clifford’s BE BIG with Words, Goosebumps PhotoShock, I SPY Spooky Mansion and I SPY Riddle Race are now available on the App Store. Clifford’s BE BIG with Words is a word game, and Goosebumps PhotoShock allows users to edit their photos into ghastly Goosebumps frights using 90 creepy icons, objects and frames. I SPY Riddle Race combines the classic I SPY search-and-find play with the appeal of board games and timed challenges, while I SPY Spooky Mansion takes players on a hidden-object adventure through a mysterious mansion.

The remaining applications will roll out later this month. The 39 Clues Madrigal Maze takes players on a training mission to solve a series of 39 mazes and become a member of a top-secret organization. WordGirl Word Hunt leads kids on an action-packed adventure to help WordGirl save the city from villains by using vocabulary words.
