Disney Preps Camp Rock Sequel

BURBANK: Disney Channel will begin production on the Camp Rock sequel this summer for a 2010 premiere, with Demi Lovato, Kevin Jonas, Joe Jonas and Nick Jonas reprising their original roles.

Camp Rock 2 The Final Jam will also star Matthew "Mdot" Finley and Chloe Bridges as new cast members, plus Meaghan Martin, Alyson Stoner, Anna Maria Perez de Tagle, Roshon Fegan, Daniel Fathers and Maria Canals-Barrera. 

"Camp Rock has had tremendous success around the world—on television, on DVD and as a soundtrack," said Gary Marsh, the president of entertainment at Disney Channels Worldwide. "Our goal with this sequel is to raise the stakes and dig deeper into these wonderful characters and their musical journey."

The premiere of Camp Rock was the top entertainment telecast on cable in 2008 with 10.1 million total viewers. Since then it has reached more than 145.7 million unique total viewers worldwide in over 160 countries and in 30 languages.
