JLTV Secures DIRECTV Carriage

LOS ANGELES: Satellite TV giant DIRECTV has added Jewish Life Television (JLTV), billed as the first 24-hour Jewish-themed television channel in the U.S., to its lineup.

“JLTV is proud of its new partnership with DIRECTV," said Phil Blazer, the president and CEO of JLTV. "Their vast audience allows our network to serve both Jewish and non-Jewish communities across urban, suburban and rural America. DIRECTV is a pioneer in the broadcast industry, and its willingness to include Jewish programming among its basic offerings underscores the increasing recognition of a vibrant Jewish audience and a broader embrace of Jewish culture.”

JLTV offers educational, cultural, historical, news, sports, lifestyle and entertainment programs intended to raise the awareness of Jewish culture and history. The original programming slate includes On the Hour, an hourly news program; School Judaica, airing Sunday through Thursday; the hour-long magazine series To The Point; the travel series Air, Land, and Sea and the lifestyle offering Better Living with Laura Klein. Other highlights include the movie-review series FLIX; the music show JLTV Jams; and the student-targeted On Campus.

JLTV can also be seen via Time Warner Cable and on a variety of independent cable systems throughout the U.S.
