FME Clinches Pre-DISCOP Drama Sales

LONDON: The Adventures of Merlin, Satisfaction and 112 have all been sold by FremantleMedia Enterprises (FME) to new broadcasters across Central and Eastern Europe.

The 13×1-hour first season of The Adventures of Merlin, which gives the myths, monsters and magic of Camelot a modern twist, has been acquired by broadcasters in Bulgaria (BTV), Estonia (ETV), Hungary (RTL Klub), Latvia (Viasat), Lithuania (BTV), Poland (Polsat), Romania (Pro TV), Serbia/Macedonia/Bosnia Herzegovina/Montenegro (Tramiso), Slovenia (Pro-Plus-Pop TV), Ukraine (1+1) and Russia (TV3). The series has already been sold to more than 180 countries worldwide, and a second season is currently in production.

The 20×1-hour Australian drama Satisfaction follows the lives of high-class escorts as they juggle the pressures of their private lives with their secret profession. The first season has been sold to 27 regions to date, and season two has been acquired by Estonia (Kanal 2), Poland (TVN Style), the Czech Republic (TV Barrandov) and Russia and CIS (Sony Pictures), which went for both seasons.

The German daily action drama 112 consists of 110 half-hour episodes, produced by Action Concept, and is set in an emergency services center where everyone works together to save lives. The show was snapped up in Lithuania (BTV), Latvia (LNT), Poland (TVN7), Hungary (RTL Klub) and Serbia/Macedonia/Bosnia Herzegovina/Montenegro (Tramiso).

Veronika Gracher, the VP of sales for German-speaking Europe and Eastern Europe at FME, commented, “Broadcasters are continuing to earmark acquisitions budget for quality programming. FME is also presenting titles such as The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency (season four), Jamie’s America, Unwrapped, Deadliest Warrior and Black Gold.
