Dori Presents New Teen Drama

MIAMI: Split, a new teen-vampire daily drama, and Champs 12, centered on the fast-paced world of teen soccer, are in the mix of offerings from Dori Media Group for the L.A. Screenings.

Split tells the story of Ella, a 15-year-old girl who is half vampire and half human. She is drawn into an age-old conflict between both worlds, forcing her to choose between her love for Omer, her human friend, and Leo, a vampire.

Champs 12, written by Patricia Maldonado (Rebelde Way), combines the raw energy with a romantic story line. The series tells the story of Charlotte, who humiliated by Gonzalo when she was younger for being overweight. She later becomes the owner of a soccer club in which Gonzalo is the star, and in her quest for revenge, will do everything in her power to make his life miserable. But, love may change her plans completely.

Dori Media Group will also present a new musical daily drama Danny Hollywood. Set in 1968, the story follows Danny Hollywood, who is a pop star whose dying day is approaching. Forty years later, a filmmaker named Daniela is obsessed with Danny’s story, and is unexpectedly transported back to 1968, straight into Danny’s arms.

Other titles in Dori’s portfolio are Amanda O, the first cross-platform telenovela starring Natalia Oreiro and Luciano Castro, and Cupid: The Business of Love, about two rival divorce lawyers who are given a second chance to live after a fatal car accident, only if they can work together as matchmakers.

José Escalante, the president and general manager of Dori Media Distribution, commented: “We received incredible feedback from a huge number of acquisition executives in response to our new productions presented during MIPTV, and we are certain that same enthusiasm will be replicated at the L.A. Screenings 2009.”
