MD Named at Cablecom

ZURICH/AMSTERDAM: Effective immediately, Eric Tveter takes on the role of managing director of Swiss cable operator Cablecom.

Cablecom is a subsidiary of UPC Broadband, the European cable division of Liberty Global. Tveter was previously the president of Telewest Global in the U.K. and held a range of senior management positions at Time Warner Cable, Comcast Corporation and Cablevision Systems Corporation. He currently is a non-executive board member of Open TV and formerly served as shairman of Sightspeed, a video conferencing and communications provider that was sold to Logitech late last year.  

Gene Musselman, the president and COO of UPC Broadband, commented: “Eric is an all-round manager with extensive knowledge and experience in the U.S., the U.K. and in the European cable industry. He is a high-caliber professional who has helped turn around major operations such as Telewest prior to its merger into Virgin Media.
