WESTDOC Continues to Grow Participant Roster

SANTA MONICA: Among the networks and cablers that have signed on for the new WESTDOC Conference, which spotlights the documentary and reality TV genres, are ABC, Discovery Channel, Lifetime, National Geographic, E! Entertainment Television and MTV.

Animal Planet, PBS’s American Masters, Discovery Science Channel, Spike, TV-Land, History Channel, local KCET, WE, Game Show Network and Oregon Public TV are also slated to attend the three-day event, which will bring together documentary and reality TV executives in Santa Monica for networking, panel sessions, keynote speakers and pitching opportunities.

WESTDOC: The West Coast Documentary and Reality Conference will include 40-plus panels and seminars the first two days in two interchangeable arenas: The Documentary Village and The Reality Village. Both sites will feature network and cable executives discussing their upcoming schedules and future programming needs amid seminar titles that include “Getting the Network’s Attention,” “From Indie to Oscar Nominee,” “Secrets of Superstar Producers” and “What do HBO, FOX, Discovery, TLC, Really Want?” The third day of the WESTDOC Conference centers on PitchFest, which gives documentary and reality producers a chance to pitch concepts before a live audience to network and development executives for potential acquisition.

The founders of the WESTDOC Conference, taking place September 14 to 16, are producer/director Chuck Braverman and Solid Entertainment president Richard Propper.
