Report: Joost Seeks Buyer

NEW YORK: The Internet TV platform Joost, set up by Skype founders Janus Friis and Niklas Zennstrom, is said to be looking for a buyer, with Time Warner Cable reportedly among the companies exploring a bid for the service.

Launched two years ago, Joost has struggled to keep pace with competitors like YouTube and Hulu, both in terms of usage and content offerings. According to a CNET report, the company is looking to cable and satellite providers for an investment, positioning itself as an online video solution.
