Sprout Slot for Mighty Jungle

CANNES, March 31: Sprout in the U.S. has acquired the Halifax Film production Mighty Jungle from DECODE Enterprises for launch April 24.

The 46×11-minute puppet series will premiere as part of a special week of Earth Week programming on the channel, owned by Comcast, HIT, Sesame Workshop and PBS and currently available in more than 47 million U.S. homes. The CBC commission, recently acquired by Disney Channels in Asia and Latin America, focuses on colorful puppet animals in the jungle.

Andrew Beecham, the senior VP of programming at Sprout, called the show a "perfect addition to Sprout’s programming line-up, especially since each episode was inspired by real preschoolers. We are thrilled to have such a fun and unique show that plucks its story lines right from the creative minds of children and evolves it into a colorful, exciting and fun journey. The concept is right in line with Sprout’s hands-on approach to inspiring parent-preschooler interaction and encouraging viewers to share their children’s ideas, crafts, videos and photos directly with the network.”
