Ex-AOL Chief Set for News Corp. Role

NEW YORK: AOL’s former chief executive, Jonathan Miller, is said to be joining News Corporation this week to oversee all of the company’s digital initiatives, reporting directly to chairman and CEO Rupert Murdoch.

According to the FT, Miller’s appointment as chief digital officer is expected to be announced this week. He will be tasked with overseeing MySpace, the IGN video games media and community service, the mobile entertainment company Jamba and News Corp.’s stake in Hulu, among other new-media businesses. The move comes as part of a restructure at News Corp. following the announcement that Peter Chernin, president and COO, is not renewing his contract. With Miller’s appointment, Peter Levinsohn, who currently oversees Fox Interactive Media, is expected to move to Twentieth Century Fox to oversee the digital delivery of film and TV content.
