CCI Sells Tween Comedy

TORONTO: CCI Releasing has sold Alice Upside Down to, among others, YTV in Canada, Disney in Latin America and Scandinavia and Noga in Israel.

Further sales for the tween comedy, which is based on the Alice novels by Phylis Reynolds Naylor, include Starz in the U.S., Globo TV in Brazil, Epelpol Entertainment in Poland, Disney for Australia and New Zealand and Falcon Films in the Middle East. These new agreements compliment an all-rights deal scored with Momentum in the U K. CCI is also in the final stages of negotiation in France, Italy, Germany, Mexico and another the U.S.

Alice Upside Down stars Alyson Stoner (Camp RockThe Suite Life of Zack and Cody) as the new girl in school. Lucas Grabeel (High School Musical, Milk) plays her older brother Lester, Luke Perry (Beverly Hills, 90210) stars as the single dad in charge of the McKinley clan and Penny Marshall (Laverne and Shirley) rounds out the cast.

"Alice has translated the concerns and emotions of tweens to a world wide audience," said Seth Willenson, the co-producer responsible for distribution. "I am excited about the outreach to broadcasters building up in major territories."
