MotoGP Coverage Set for the Baltics

STOCKHOLM: Viasat Broadcasting has acquired the exclusive live broadcasting pay-TV rights for the MotoGP motorcycle grand prix championship across the Baltic States.

Viasat Broadcasting secured a three-year deal, until 2011, with Dorna Sports, covering Sweden, Norway and Denmark. All 17 races will be broadcast live on Sundays on the newly launched premium pay-TV channel Viasat Sport Baltic. The 2009 MotoGP season kicks off April 12 and ends November 8.

Karolis Dapkevicius, the head of Viasat Sport Baltic, said: "MotoGP complements the best motorsport content our channel gives for our viewers in the region. Previously not shown in the Baltics, MotoGP will be a perfect Sunday content addition next to the FIA Formula One World Championship already scheduled on the channel."7
