ID Set for Russian Launch

LONDON: The 24-hour crime and investigation channel Investigation Discovery (ID) will launch in Russia in April, following its previous debuts in the U.K. and the U.S.

Offering a compelling lineup of crime and investigative programming, ID focuses on the science of forensics and how it is used to unlock the real-life stories behind some of the world’s most fascinating investigations. ID Russia, targeted at the 25-to-54 demographic with a strong female skew, will launch with programs such as Solved, which looks at elite police investigative units, and Wicked Attraction, a series that reveals the stories behind people driven by love to commit murder.

ID will be the seventh Discovery brand to launch in Russia, alongside the flagship Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, Discovery Science, Discovery HD, Discovery World and Discovery Travel & Living.

"The European rollout of ID demonstrates Discovery’s commitment to delivering a broad range of programming and services that satisfy the curiosity of diverse audiences and strengthen the pay-TV landscape across EMEA," said Arthur Bastings, the executive VP and managing director of Discovery Networks EMEA.
