Terry Pratchett Adaptation Set for U.S. Broadcast

WEST PALM BEACH: The Sky1 commission The Color of Magic, adapted from Terry Pratchett’s Discworld series, is slated to premiere in the U.S. on ION Television on March 22.

The four-hour production from RHI Entertainment is based on the first two books in the Discworld series and stars Sean Astin, Tim Curry and David Jason, with Brian Cox as the narrator and Christopher Lee voicing the role of Death.

The two-parter first aired on Sky1 last March, delivering more than a million viewers. It followed another Pratchett adaptation, HogfatherThe Color of Magic was filmed at London’s Pinewood Studios. RHI’s Robert Halmi Sr. and Robert Halmi Jr. served as executive producers on the project.
