MIPTV Lines Up Digital Media Keynotes

PARIS: The latest trends in digital media will be addressed by two new keynote speakers on the MIPTV schedule: Patrick Barry, the VP of Connected TV at Yahoo!, and Dr. Jeffrey Cole, the director of the Center for the Digital Future at USC’s Annenberg School.

Both keynotes are slated for April 1 as part of the new MIP Digital Forum, which focuses on issues such as on-demand TV, cross-platform content production, broadband-video business models, connected gaming and TV convergence, mobility and marketing.

Barry, who leads the Connected TV initiative for Yahoo!’s global Connected Life division, will focus on what it takes to bring the best of the web to the TV set. Cole heads up the Center for the Digital Future research and policy institute, which seeks to maximize the potential of the mass media and rapidly evolving communication technologies. His speech will look at how Internet and mobile technology are changing daily life.
