CBBC Picks Up Martha Speaks

TORONTO/LONDON,
December 11: DECODE Enterprises has signed a deal with CBBC for the 2-D
animated series Martha Speaks.

The
40×22-minuted series is based on the bestselling books by Susan
Meddaugh, which have sold
nearly one million copies in the U.S. and have been translated throughout the
world. Martha
Speaks
follows the adventures of a loveable dog
whose appetite for alphabet soup gives her the power of human speech. The show
currently airs on PBS KIDS in the U.S., and has also sold to Canada's TVO, Knowledge Network and SCN.

The controller of CBBC, Anne Gilchrist,
said, "I'm
delighted to have Martha Speaks
airing on CBBC. The series is full of great, heart-warming stories and I know
it will really appeal to the younger end of our audience."
