New Mobile Launches for Animax

HONG
KONG, December 1: Sony Pictures Television International's anime channel Animax has
teamed up with Astro and StarHub to launch the subscription-based Animax Mobile
service in Malaysia and Singapore, respectively.

In
Malaysia, Animax Mobile is available on the Astro Mobile TV service. In
Singapore, meanwhile, StarHub Mobile will launch the service today. Animax
Mobile offers popular Japanese anime series in its English dubbed versions.
Titles available at launch include Gankutsuou: The Count of
Monte Cristo
, Blood+, R.O.D. the TV and Last Exile.

The
two new launches bring Animax Mobile to a total of seven markets, following
successful rollouts in Canada, Australia, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Brunei.

"Animax's expansion to mobile is a natural
progression for the channel which already enjoys a strong following in Singapore
and Malaysia," said Gregory Ho, the VP and general manager of Animax Asia.
"Animax Mobile adds a new platform beyond TV where viewers can enjoy their
favourite shows whenever and wherever they want, especially as they go on
shopping trips and gatherings during this busy festive season."
