Wild Talk Africa Open for Natural History Film Entries

DURBAN,
November 4: Filmmakers
can now submit their natural history productions for consideration for the
ROSCAR (Rhino sculpture) Awards at the Durban Wild Talk Africa Film Festival
and Conference, which will take place April 19 to 23, 2009, at the ICC Durban.

The ROSCAR Awards
categories for 2009 include, among others, Natural History Production with a
Limited Budget, Children’s Natural History Production (to be judged by
schoolchildren), Environmental Production with a Conservation Message and
Eco-Tourism, Travel and/or Culture Production, as well as an Outstanding
Achievement for African Wildlife Filmmaker Award.

Entries will be judged by
industry professionals and filmmakers, and include representation from Animal
Planet, National Geographic Television, National Geographic Channels
International, France 5, Parthenon Entertainment, NHHZ, ORF, NHK, New Delhi TV,
Off the Fence and others. Any production that noticeably impresses the judges
will automatically be put forward for the Judge’s Choice Award.

The winners of the ROSCAR
Awards will be announced at a gala event on the finale evening of Durban Wild
Talk Africa.
