Total Drama Action Finds U.S. Home

LONDON, October 27: Cake
Distribution has sold Fresh TV’s Total
Drama Action, which is the sequel to the animated reality series Total Drama Island, to Cartoon Network
in the U.S.

Total Drama Action takes 15 of the original animated contestants from Total Drama Island to a new location, a
deserted film studio lot. New to the series will be a number of talk-show
episodes, which feature former contestants and fans commenting on the
competition. The series was created by Fresh TV’s Tom McGillis
and Jennifer Persch and was commissioned by TELETOON
Canada. Total Drama Action is
currently in production to premiere in 2009.

“We were very excited when
Cartoon Network took the plunge in launching this mould-breaking show,” said Ed Galton,
the managing director of Cake Distribution. “The creators and producers at
Fresh TV have found such a natural continuation for the series, and we are
thrilled that Cartoon Network has come on board to further build this success
story with us.”
