BBC Channels Asia GM Resigns

SINGAPORE, October 15: Christine Leo McKerrow, the senior VP
and general manager for BBC Worldwide Channels Asia, is leaving her role
effective at the end of January.

Since she joined the company, she has overseen the launch of
the rebranded BBC portfolio—including BBC Entertainment, BBC Knowledge,
BBC Lifestyle and CBeebies—in several key Asian markets, among them
Singapore, India, Hong Kong and Korea.

“Three years ago I set out to launch the BBC channels
portfolio in the region,” she said in a statement. “After three intense and
incredibly rewarding years of launching five new channel brands and building
the foundations for the BBC channels business throughout Asia, it is time to
stop to take a well-earned break. I am enormously proud of the achievements of
the team in the region, whose dedication allowed us to achieve so much so
quickly. I know I will continue to hear of their success in the future.”

There is no word yet on who will succeed Leo-McKerrow, a
veteran of the multichannel market in the Asia Pacific.
